The Community Engagement and Sustainable Development Tool is © 2009 WWF & CAG Consultants and © 2010 WWF & CAG Consultants. The Community Engagement and Sustainable Development Tool was developed by WWF-UK and CAG Consultants to measure the impact community engagement has on changing and maintaining behaviours towards sustainable lifestyles.

WWF-UK supports the Change! Tool because of the role that our behaviour plays in reversing unsustainable patterns of consumption. The 2010 Living Planet Report states that 1.5 planets are needed to support current global consumption. We need to redress this balance through policy change, technological solutions and changes in consumption patterns. Evaluating successful projects that enable sustainable behaviour is an important part of the change required and the Change! Tool is one method to support our learning.

CAG Consultants is an employee-owned business providing support, policy advice and training in a wide range of inter-related fields which can broadly be categorised as:
  • stakeholder and community involvement

  • sustainable development

The mission of WWF is to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature, by:
  • conserving the world’s biological diversity
  • ensuring that the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable
  • reducing pollution and wasteful consumption.
NESTA is the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts - an independent body with a mission to make the UK more innovative.

NESTA does not work alone. Our success depends on the strength of the partnerships we form with innovators, policymakers, community organisations, educators and other investors.
